‘You’d Never Believe This, But:’ A Storytelling Workshop about Magic, Friendship, and the Supernatural

We'll begin by sharing stories we think their our would never believe - the magic we’ve seen in our daily lives, ranging from fun stories of friendship to experiences with the supernatural. The stories will start with the storyteller stating, “You’d never believe this, but…” and see what happens from there. Participants will act out their stories in groups, eventually performing these short scenes for the larger group. Through facilitation, there will be a process of disecting the story and editing the scene into a great story that will easily grab the attention of the audience!

Workshop leader Sarah Powers is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder where she received her BFA in Acting along with a degree in Sociology. She shares a passion for teaching and storytelling and enjoys creating art that uplifts every voice in the room. She believes that theatre is one of the best means for storytelling because of its collaborative nature - the collaboration between artists and audience. This summer she will be making her professional directorial debut with Square Product Theatre.
